What is Amazon Seller Central?

Amazon Seller Central is an online platform where businesses and individual sellers manage their sales on Amazon's marketplace. It allows sellers to list products, manage inventory, fulfill orders, handle customer interactions, and monitor performance metrics.


1. Self-Ship Orders

For Self-Ship Orders, the seller is responsible for packing and shipping the item directly to the customer using their own logistics provider.

Steps to Process Self-Ship Orders:

  1. Access Orders:

    • Log in to Amazon Seller Central.

    • Navigate to Orders > Manage Orders.

    • Filter for "Self-Ship" orders.

  2. Prepare the Order:

    • Pick the product from your inventory.

    • Pack the item securely with proper labeling to avoid damage during transit.

    • Include an optional packing slip for better customer experience.

  3. Ship the Order:

    • Use your chosen courier service to ship the package.

    • Generate a tracking number from the courier service.

  4. Confirm Shipment:

    • Go back to Seller Central.

    • Open the order details, and click Confirm Shipment.

    • Enter the tracking ID and the courier service details.

  5. Deadline Compliance:

    • Ensure shipment is confirmed before 11 AM on the shipping day.


2. Easy Ship Orders

For Easy Ship Orders, Amazon provides a logistics service to pick up, ship, and deliver the product to the customer.

Steps to Process Easy Ship Orders:

  1. Access Orders:

    • Log in to Amazon Seller Central.

    • Navigate to Orders > Manage Orders.

    • Filter for "Easy Ship" orders.

  2. Schedule a Pickup:

    • Open the order details.

    • Click Schedule Pickup and select a convenient pickup time.

    • Ensure the pickup is scheduled before 11 AM on the shipping day.

  3. Prepare the Order:

    • Pack the product securely.

    • Print the shipping label generated in Seller Central.

    • Attach the shipping label to the package.

  4. Hand Over to Amazon's Logistics Partner:

    • Hand over the package to the Amazon delivery associate during the scheduled pickup.

    • Ensure all Easy Ship orders are ready for pickup by the scheduled time.


Key Points to Remember

  • Deadline: Both Self-Ship and Easy Ship orders must be processed and updated in Seller Central before 11 AM on the shipping day to avoid penalties.

  • Tracking Details: Always provide accurate tracking information for Self-Ship orders to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Customer Communication: Use the messaging system in Seller Central to inform buyers of shipping updates, if necessary.

  • Compliance: Regularly check your account health to ensure timely fulfillment of orders.
