If your items were branded, it would be difficult for someone to create copycat versions of the product and sell it on Amazon. Other sellers can duplicate your listings: Generic products leave you susceptible to other sellers duplicating your product listings.
Amazon Brand Registry
Amazon Brand Registry is a global service that helps you to protect your brand’s Intellectual Property (IP). When you enrol in Brand Registry, you unlock a suite of tools that allows you to more easily manage your brand’s product listings, find and report IP violations, and prevent counterfeits.
Once you have enrolled in Brand Registry, you can register your products to your brand and gain access to A+ Content, Amazon Stores and Sponsored Brands. You will also get more control over the product information that appears in our store. Register
For Brand Registry, your brand must have
- An active registered trademark in each country where you want to enrol or
- A pending trademark application that is filed through Amazon IP Accelerator or
- A trademark that is pending registration in a subset of accepted trademark.
Note- The trademark must either be a text-based mark (word mark) or an image-based mark (design mark). Additionally, the trademark text must match with the brand name that you provide in your Brand Registry application. If your trademark is an image-based mark with words, letters or numbers, then you must upload a copy of the image exactly as it appears in your trademark record.
Enrol your brand
To enrol one or more brands in Brand Registry, click Manage and select Enrol a brand.
During the enrolment process, you will be prompted to enter the following information:
Your brand name that has an active registered trademark. We also accept brand names with a trademark that is pending registration in a subset of trademark offices.
The government-registered trademark number. If you are enrolling with a trademark that is pending registration, then you may provide the application number issued by the IP office.
A list of product categories (for example, Apparel, Sporting Goods, Electronics) in which your brand should be listed.
After you submit your application, we will verify that you are the trademark owner and contact the trademark correspondent (or attorney) listed in the trademark record.
